We're Hiring: English for Nursing (ESP) Instructor – Contract Position

VLTS Language and Translation Limited ) is seeking a passionate and experienced English for Specific Purposes (ESP) Instructor to join our international teaching team.

This contract role focuses on teaching English for Nursing to internationally educated nurses preparing for professional practice and academic pathways in English-speaking countries.

About the Role

You will deliver engaging, high-impact lessons that help nursing students build the language, communication, and cultural skills required to succeed in healthcare settings abroad.

Your learners are internationally trained nurses who need English for:


• Hospital communication (patients, doctors, and colleagues)


• Documentation, charting, and professional writing


• Speaking and listening during clinical handovers


• Ethical and cultural interaction in English-speaking healthcare environments

Key Responsibilities


• Teach ESP (English for Nursing) classes online through VLTS's secure LMS and Zoom platform.


• Deliver content aligned with CLB/CEFR levels and VLTS course outcomes.


• Integrate all four skills—Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing—into authentic nursing contexts.


• Provide constructive feedback and support to students as they prepare for professional communication in Canada and other English-speaking countries.


• Participate in occasional curriculum meetings or training sessions with the VLTS academic team.

Qualifications


• TESL/TESOL/TEFL certification (TESL Canada or equivalent preferred).


• Minimum 2 years of ESL or ESP teaching experience (experience in healthcare English or nursing communication is a strong asset).


• Familiarity with NCLEX and CELBAN preparation is an advantage.


• Excellent communication, professionalism, and intercultural awareness.


• Ability to teach online in an interactive and engaging way.
