Unit Electric, located in Okanagan Falls, is looking to hire experienced, reliable Journeyperson welders to join our fabrication team. Reporting to the Lead Hand, this position is responsible for production welding, fabrication of custom prototypes from supplied drawings, custom jigs and fixtures to produce production parts that meet customer specifications.

Summary of what you will do:

  • Repair and fabrication of custom prototypes from supplied drawings.
  • Fabrication of custom jigs, fixtures and metal structures.
  • Welding according to pre-set parameters using MIG, ARC and TIG welding processes.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW),
  • Operate Plasma equipment, metal shaping and bending machines.
  • Read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions.
  • Operate overhead cranes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a welder preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Journeyperson Certificate.
  • Valid welding certification, Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) preferred.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Able to work overtime as required.
