Who Are We?

Machobear Studios is an established tech start-up based in Vancouver. We are the creators of , an all-in-one platform that connects tenants with landlords. In addition to developing and maintaining our platform, we work on a variety of exciting projects for our clients within the real estate and food industries, providing innovative tech solutions that meet their unique needs.

We are currently on the lookout for a skilled high-intermediate to senior Front-End Developer who thrives on the challenge of creating exceptional user interfaces, integrating front-end solutions, and is eager to deliver high-performing applications.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand build and customize high performing enterprise web and mobile applications
  • Participate in planning sessions to contribute technical insights and recommendations
  • Design, develop, and implement front-end solutions for web and mobile applications
  • Implement and advocate for best practices in front end development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation
  • Debug and troubleshoot front-end issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
  • Promote code refactoring initiatives to improve code quality, readability, and maintainability
  • Lead automated testing efforts, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests using tools like Jest, Cypress, or similar
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers

What You Bring Us:

  • BSc in Computer Science or BASc in Computer/Software Engineering or a two-year diploma/certificate in computing and software development
  • 4+ years of experience in the tech environment
  • Experience with modern build tools such as Webpack, Vite, or similar
  • Experience with ReactJS and React Native
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
  • Experience working with an existing design system
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and WCAG compliance
  • Knowledge of state management libraries including Redux, Zustand, or Context API
  • Experience maintaining projects in Git versioning systems
  • Proven track record of analyzing and optimizing page performance and load times
  • Worked with MySQL/MariaDB, NodeJs, AWS
  • Have a passion in web development and new technologies
  • Comprehensive understanding of automated testing frameworks and methodologies
  • Proficient in optimizing and debugging code
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Have strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum processes
  • Familiarity with design patterns and programming principals and it's applications
