Arkfield Group is a vertically integrated real estate firm focused on the acquisition, development, construction, and management of both commercial and residential properties across Ontario. As a rapidly growing organization, we are currently seeking a Accountant to support our finance team with daily accounting operations and financial reporting.

Role Overview:

As an Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the financial processes for assigned real estate projects. Your responsibilities will include processing transactions, managing accounts payable, and assisting with intercompany reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process cheque deposits and record transactions in the accounting system
  • Review supplier invoices for accuracy and enter them into the accounting platform
  • Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders regarding payment statuses
  • Prepare and issue cheques for approved payments
  • Reconcile intercompany account balances at period-end, investigate discrepancies, and post necessary journal entries
  • Generate and record intercompany invoices with appropriate supporting documentation
  • Scan and file the transactions supporting documentation
  • Maintain up to date electronic filing system

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or finance
  • Previous experience in real estate development, construction, or property management is a strong asset
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or Economics
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Yardi is an asset
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
