About the Role

Join us as a Senior Cultural Advisor and play a pivotal role in shaping how the ABC tells stories — bringing Indigenous and diverse cultural perspectives, protocols, and knowledge to the heart of our Screen and Audio content.

You'll share and transfer Indigenous and diverse community and cultural knowledge, expertise and skills to colleagues and clients, delivering information sessions, briefings and training, as well as providing editorial guidance.

You'll establish and maintain strong working relationships with various internal stakeholders including, the News Division Senior Cultural Adviser and Head Indigenous, the First Nations Strategy team, and The Bonner Committee.

You're someone who brings experience and confidence to the role. You've led cultural initiatives, policies, or plans and know how to influence and build strong, collaborative relationships with people at all levels.

You're a born communicator and can explain ideas clearly, whether in writing or face-to-face. You bring energy, professionalism, and a creative approach to finding solutions that make a real difference.

You understand Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultures and can communicate sensitively and effectively. You live the ABC Values—aiming high, thinking differently, taking ownership, and delivering together—and you're committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful environment.
