Role Description
Marilu's Market is seeking a full-time Sous Chef for an on-site role located in Burlington, ON. The Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and retail execution. Responsibilities also include supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and presentation, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The Sous Chef will ensure compliance with health and safety standards and contribute to menu development. This role requires excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Food Preparation and Cooking skills
- Experience in supervising kitchen staff and maintaining kitchen operations
- Inventory management and ordering
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus
- Prior experience in a similar role within the food industry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
