(UCP) Unregulated Care Provider – FULLTIME MIDNIGHTS (Immediate Start)

Location: Thorold, Ontario

Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated permanent full-time PSW/Unregulated Care Provider (UCP) or equivalent to join our team immediately.

The successful candidate must have previous experience working in a Retirement Home setting in Canada, including medication administration and taking charge during shifts. This position requires flexibility, as you must be available for all shifts, including nights and every other weekend.

Key Qualifications:

  • Formal training and/or hands-on experience in medication administration within a Retirement Home, Long-Term Care (LTC), or Hospital setting in Canada.
  • Proficiency with PointClickCare (PCC) electronic charting system.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts (mornings, evenings, nights) and every other weekend.
  • Strong empathy and understanding toward the elderly population.
  • High degree of patience, tolerance, and compassion.
  • Excellent English communication skills—verbal, written, and reading comprehension.
  • Physically able to stand, walk, bend, use stairs, and assist with resident transfers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to take charge and manage emergency situations when management is not onsite (site-specific training will be provided).

Additional Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation (public transit may not be available at shift times)
  • Fluent in English (read, write, speak)

Work Schedule May Include:

  • Morning shift- 7am-3pm
  • Evening shift- 3-11pm
  • Night shift- 11pm-7am
  • Weekdays (Monday to Friday)
  • Weekends (required to work every other Saturday and Sunday)
