Computer Systems Technician

This is a full time (35 hours/week) permanent position with Seven Oaks School Division, effective as mutually agreed.

Under the supervision of the Director - Information Technology, the Computer System Technician provides technical support for computing devices and their local and wide area networks.

Duties:

· Provide technical hardware & software support for desktop computers, laptops and other devices, including set up, installation and maintenance on administrative and student workstations.

· Maintain and configure peripherals such as printers, scanners, digital cameras, digital video editing equipment, projection devices and other third-party hardware devices in classrooms and labs. Provide technical support for meetings and professional development sessions as required.

· Communicate with others using a variety of methods, including an online helpdesk ticketing system as well as through email, telephone, personal and collegial discussions.

Qualifications:

· Grade 12 and one (1) year computer technical and/or computer technology course or equivalent to attain knowledge of computer hardware, software and networking.

· One to two years previous experience, with demonstrated knowledge of Windows operating systems – Google, Chrome Books, IOS, MS Office, TCP/IP based networks, Cloud based computer and Wireless networks.

· Position requires a valid driver's license and a vehicle as work sites are distributed within Seven Oaks School Division. Handheld communication device also required. Technician will receive a monthly allowance as stated in Policy DJDJ – Handheld Wireless Communication Device.

Salary is according to the C.U.P.E. Local 949 Collective Agreement, starting at $31.90 per hour. Comprehensive benefits package.
