Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for completing detailed finish work on residential and commercial projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to project specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, blueprint reading, and various finishing processes. The Finish Carpenter will work closely with project managers, other trades, and clients to deliver exceptional results that meet safety standards and client expectations.

Duties

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute finish carpentry tasks.
  • Install trim, molding, doors, windows, and other woodwork with precision.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, CNC equipment, and woodworking machinery safely and effectively.
  • Assist in restoration projects by repairing or refurbishing existing structures to restore their original appearance.
  • Measure and cut materials accurately for flooring installation, tile laying, siding, and other finishing tasks.
  • Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment while maintaining safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all tools and materials are properly stored after use.
  • Collaborate with team members on construction estimating, project planning, and execution to meet deadlines.

Skills

  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and schematics interpretation.
  • Extensive experience with carpentry techniques including woodworking.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools (saws, hammers, chisels), power tools (drills, sanders), CNC machinery, and construction equipment.
  • Ability to perform construction painting and caulking for finishing surfaces.
  • Familiarity with plumbing and electrical systems as they relate to finish carpentry projects.
  • Experience with construction estimating and project planning is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various working conditions.
