The Eeyou Eenou Police Force is a Regional Police Force dedicated to serving and protecting the residents of Eeyou Istchee. Operating under the administration of the Grand Council of the Crees/Cree Nation Government since April 1, 2011, the organization is committed to maintaining peace, safety, and security within the communities.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chisasibi, QC, for a Call Dispatcher at the Eeyou Eenou Police Force. The Call Dispatcher will be responsible for receiving and prioritizing emergency calls, accurately documenting incidents, and dispatching appropriate personnel. Additionally, they will monitor communication systems, maintain detailed logs, and ensure the efficient flow of information to support critical operations within law enforcement. The Call Dispatcher is the first point of contact for people needing immediate assistance from EEPF.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, active listening, and clarity in relaying information.
  • Proficiency in call dispatching systems and familiarity with emergency communication tools and protocols.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure and in high-stress situations.
  • Knowledge of Eeyou Istchee, Cree culture and communities.
  • Fluent in Cree and English.
  • High school diploma.
  • Additional certifications in dispatch or emergency response are an asset.
  • Knowledge of computer databases and software programs.
  • Experience in fire operations, public safety/health, emergency management, customer service, and call centre operation is an asset.
  • Available to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as part of a 24/7 operation.
  • Willingness to follow adequate training.
  • Must undergo a background check.
