JOB TITLE: QA Assistant

REPORTS TO: Director of QA

JOB SUMMARY: The QA Assistant is responsible for supporting the Director of QA in matters related to food safety and compliance with CFIA and Health Canada regulations The assistant will work under the supervision of the Director of QA in order to prepare, review and maintain QA documentation. The work involves working in both an office and refrigerated environment.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 1 year contract. Full-Time Hours 6:45am-3:15pm (8 hour shift).

Monday-Friday, with occasional work on Saturday mornings as required.

DUTIES:

· Prepares, reviews and maintains documentation pertaining to QA

· Assists in the collection of product samples for QA testing

· Supports QA with inspections on products placed on QA hold

· Assists in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints and/or issues of product non-conformities

· Assists in any other duties as needed and directed by the Director of QA and/or management

· Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office apps

· Strong oral and written communication skills in English

· Possesses strong attention to detail

· Time-management skills and ability to prioritize tasks that are time-sensitive in nature

· Work in refrigerated environment and office as required

· Experience in food safety and labelling an asset

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $23.08 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
