Summary
Reporting to the Knowledge Exchange and Mobilization Project Manager, the Knowledge Translation Coordinator is as member of the Foundry's Knowledge Exchange and Mobilization (KxM) team and works in collaboration with the Research and Communications teams to support knowledge translation (KT) and knowledge exchange and mobilization (KEMb) activities.The role provides support to the Foundry Central Office (FCO) in the development and operational implementation of assigned knowledge exchange, translation, and mobilization projects and initiatives. The Knowledge Translation Coordinator will:
- support the translation and implementation of findings on evidence-based best practice and research into knowledge products that can be used and delivered through a variety of communications channels (e.g., paper-based, multi-media);
- work with multiple stakeholders to identify knowledge needs and translate these needs into deliverables;
- contribute to the development of programs and materials;
- support the delivery of education and training sessions to support sustainable uptake, adoption, and implementation of evidence-based interventions;
- evaluate the effectiveness of these knowledge exchange and mobilization activities.
Education:
- A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Health Sciences, Health Services Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Communications or relevant health care discipline.
- A minimum of three (3) year's recent, related experience in knowledge translation and communications, project management and facilitating collaboration with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
- Experience or working knowledge of a range of public health topics including mental health, substance use, harm reduction as well as experience working with a learning management system considered assets.
Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of content design, delivery and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Knowledge of and ability to conduct evaluation and incorporate into a variety of knowledge exchange products.
- Ability to synthesize information from stakeholders to inform content design, delivery and communication.
- Advanced computer skills, including demonstrated familiarity with use of online learning and knowledge exchange platforms.
- Ability to identify learning needs and develop knowledge exchange strategies/programs.
- Ability to provide and/or develop resource materials, including educational materials.
- Ability to apply decision making and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize, and to plan, coordinate, and organize work.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

Your Day to Day:
- Develops, plans and coordinates knowledge translation, exchange and mobilization strategies in collaboration with other FCO teams (e.g., communications, research, evaluation, services, engagement, etc.)
- Participates in the development and dissemination of translated findings on evidence-based best practice and research into knowledge products and content in multiple mediums (e.g., digital, written, visual).
- Completes knowledge translation and research dissemination for Foundry projects taking place with community, partners, policy-makers, and general public.
- Develops and utilizes processes to monitor and evaluate KT and KEMb strategies. Supports FCO staff, scientists and leadership in the identification of opportunities to improve service delivery through KT and KEMb initiatives.
- Liaises with stakeholders and experts internally and externally to meet knowledge needs. Incorporates findings into policies, procedures, guidelines, reference materials and learning materials.
- Liaises with community members and key partners to strengthen connections, share information, and create opportunities for partnership.
- Works with FCO staff to track, monitor and report on all KT and KEMb activities understanding the impact of the strategy and communicating to stakeholders. Contributes to funding reporting as required.
- Coordinates and schedules educational activities and community consultations; facilitates sessions both in individual and group settings.
- Identifies and develops indicators, in collaboration with Foundry's evaluation team to evaluate learning outcomes for intended audiences, compiles information and advises on adaptation and further development of the program.
- Provides contract and summary information related to events and KT and KEMb activities. Determines deliverables and outcome and develops report for distribution to impacted stakeholders (e.g., 3rd party vendors).
- Participates in regular meetings with project leads and management regarding progress and outcomes.
- Provides information, reports, analyses and recommendations to FCO teams and other stakeholders as required to support research, evaluation and decision-making.
- Performs other related duties as required.
