About the Role
K'ómoks First Nation is seeking a personable, detail-oriented, and highly organized professional to join our team as Receptionist
This important front-line role supports the Administration team and community by providing exceptional reception services, maintaining membership records, and assisting with Indian Registry documentation and office coordination.
This dual-function position is the first point of contact for visitors and callers to the K'ómoks Administration Office, while also playing a critical role in maintaining accurate membership files and supporting Indian Registry processes.
The position supports the administration team, ensures efficient communication flow, and helps coordinate office activities and supplies.
What You'll Do
· Serve as the welcoming, front-line presence for all visitors and callers
· Unlock/lock the office and ensure daily operational readiness
· Direct calls, greet guests, and support visitors with professionalism and respect
· Maintain and update membership files, directories, and Indian Registry records
· Receive and process status card paperwork and membership applications
· Provide IRA services such as Wills and Estates info and affidavit-related support
· Manage bookings for the Band Hall, kitchen, boardroom, and equipment
· Support office functions including filing, scanning, copying, and supply ordering
· Receive and direct mail, courier, fax, and email communications
· Support administrative tasks such as cheque requisitions, forms, and member communications
What You Bring
· Diploma or certificate in Office Administration is an asset
· Indian Registry Administration (IRA) certificate, or relevant work experience required
· 1+ years of experience in client service in a fast-paced office setting
· Experience working with Indigenous communities preferred
· Strong customer service, organizational, and time management skills
· Ability to handle confidential information with care and respect
· Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse community members
· Knowledge of First Nations governance and relevant socio-historical context in BC
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe
· Familiarity with office equipment including printers, scanners, projectors, speakers, and conference systems
· Tact, discretion, strong communication skills, and sound decision-making abilities
