About us:

LifeShades Custom Shading Solutions creates luxury drapery, Roman shades, blinds, custom bedding, pillow cases, and various upholstery pieces. Our in-house workroom focuses on craftsmanship, precision, and detail.

Role summary:

We're seeking a skilled seamstress or seamster with strong sewing, measuring, and math skills to join our workroom team. Experience in drapery, Roman shades, upholstery, or bedding is an asset but not required, as long as you are proficient in all sewing and cutting skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Sew and assemble custom drapery, Roman shades, bedding, pillow cases, and upholstery items
  • Operate industrial sewing machines (blind stitch, lock stitch, single needle, etc.)
  • Measure, cut, and prepare fabrics accurately
  • Inspect materials and maintain workroom organization
  • Travel to job sites within Ontario for onsite hemming or adjustments to ensure perfect curtain heights

Qualifications:

  • Strong math and measuring accuracy (to 1/16")
  • Proficient sewing ability and scissor precision
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to lift and handle fabric rolls
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation for occasional site visit
