Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Support Worker/Roommate. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to the individual in various settings, including in and out her private home. This role focuses on enhancing the quality of life for the individual through personalized care and support, ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Duties

  • Be a supportive roommate for a 44-year-old female in Red Deer
  • Provide direct care with her daily living activities.
  • Support with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition.
  • Administer her medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing housekeeping tasks.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support and foster a positive atmosphere.
  • Engage her in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
  • Document care provided and report any changes.

Qualifications

  • Must be female and willing to move into her home to provide live-in support and companionship services within the home.
  • Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospice care would be a benefit.
  • Familiarity with care practices and working with individuals with downs syndrome is highly desirable.
  • Caregiving skills and the ability to perform home cleaning duties as part of the role.
  • Good communication skills, caring and loving personality, sense of humor and ability to redirect the individual when needed would be a bonus.
  • On the Job Training and external also available to expand skills set for this position.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle are required.
  • A clean Police Information Check and Driver's Abstract is required.
  • Note - 1) Monthly salary is Tax Exempt based on Revenue Canada ruling for in-home care services; 2) Home is fully furnished and internet, cable and all utilities are included.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to $2,643.00 per month
