Location: Saskatoon, SK

Position Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: Monday–Friday, between 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (exact schedule to be determined)

Reports To: Director & Pedagogical Leader

Position Overview

The Room Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily operations of an assigned classroom and supporting a team of educators in providing high-quality, inclusive care and learning. This role blends hands-on engagement with children, mentorship of educators, and oversight of curriculum implementation, documentation, and safety.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, empathy, and problem-solving abilities, and will have proven experience supporting children with diverse developmental needs in a culturally responsive setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership, mentorship, and professional guidance to educators and support staff within the assigned classroom.

  • Model and maintain inclusive and culturally respectful teaching practices, incorporating Cree and Michif language and cultural learning where possible.

  • Support curriculum planning and documentation.

  • Demonstrate empathy, firmness, and active listening when guiding staff, children, and families.

  • Collaborate with families, therapists, and external professionals to ensure continuity of support and individualized learning plans.

  • Maintain clear documentation of children's development, observations, and communications with families.

  • Apply conflict resolution and problem-solving skills to foster positive relationships and resolve challenges.

  • Maintain time awareness, ensuring smooth transitions, scheduling, and team coordination.

  • Participate in licensing visits, family engagement events, safety checks, and other centre-wide responsibilities as needed.

  • Minimum Level III Early Childhood Educator certification, or a degree in Human Sciences, Education, Psychology, or related field.

  • Demonstrated English language proficiency (spoken and written).

  • Extensive work history and knowledge in supporting children with ASD, ADHD, GDD, and other neurodiverse or developmental needs.

  • Familiarity with speech-language pathology (SLP) strategies, sensory integration, and AEPS developmental assessment tools.

  • Strong empathy, active listening, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to be firm, consistent, and supportive in leadership and feedback.

  • Skilled in staff mentorship, team leadership, and reflective supervision.

  • Cultural awareness and respect for Indigenous and Métis teachings, languages, and community partnerships.

  • Strong professional references from previous employers and educators.

  • Excellent time management, organization, and critical thinking skills.

  • Current First Aid/CPR certification and a clear Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $21.57-$30.07 per hour
