We are recruiting a
Cost Accountant
to work at our plant in Windsor, ON (6500 Cantelon Dr.).

Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare and post journal entries related to COGS, inventory movements, and production costs.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end close for the plant, including reporting of production-related accounts.
• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts: inventory, accruals, GR/IR, and prepaids.

Costing & Inventory Management

• Establish, monitor, and maintain accurate standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Perform detailed variance analysis (PPV, usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption) and identify root causes.
• Review actual vs. standard cost deviations monthly and coordinate with operations to resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze bill of materials (BOM) and routing accuracy, ensuring costing aligns with operational performance.

Accounts Payable Posting

• Review and process vendor invoices for plant expenses and ensure proper cost centers and GL accounts are assigned.
• Ensure accurate and timely payment to suppliers.

Compliance and Internal Controls

• Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP/IFRS, and applicable local regulations.
• Maintain documentation for external reviews and participate in preparation of reviews.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard plant assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Other Duties

• Review and process approval workflows in our home-grown system, including Purchase Requisition, Supplier Application Form, etc.
• Support ad-hoc analysis, cost reduction initiatives, and other finance team projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in both written and verbal English to effectively communicate with team members. Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus due to global team interaction
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP highly preferred). Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and complex formulas.
