What You Will Get To Do

The successful candidate will have a positive impact on our corporate culture by demonstrating the Town's CARE core values (Collaborative, Accountable, Respectful, Engaged) through daily interactions with individuals at all levels of the organization, external contacts and elected officials.

By effectively building positive rapport and relationships both internally and externally, the successful candidate will help us achieve our mission that together we deliver services that make a difference in our community.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Aquatics Services, the Pool Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • training staff in instructional standards (Lifesaving Society) and emergency procedures;

  • safety supervision of instructional, public swims and rentals;

  • responding to patron inquires;

  • resolving problems and performing associated public education duties

  • instructing and examining leadership courses;

  • opening and securing the facility at the end of the shift while ensuring all public and staff have safely left the premises;

  • attending and participating at all scheduled staff meetings and training sessions;

  • assist with securing coverage for sick calls and no shows;

  • assist with administration and programming where necessary; and,

  • other duties as may be assigned.

What You Bring To Our Team

As the successful applicant you will possess:

  • minimum of six (6) months related experience;

  • current certifications in:

    • Lifesaving Society's Swim for Life Instructor;

    • Lifesaving and Emergency First Aid Instructor;

    • Lifesaving Society Advanced Instructor and Examiner;

    • Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Service (Pool);

    • Current Standard First Aid; Current CPR (Level C);

  • a physical fitness level maintained based on above certification requirements;

  • a working knowledge of Ontario Department of Health Pool Regulations;

  • leadership and supervisory experience with part‑time staff; and,

  • a valid, satisfactory police criminal record check to work with the vulnerable sector.

$ $30.26
