The Sr Environmental Coordinator ensures that the organization complies with all environmental laws, regulations, and standards. The person will support the implementation and maintenance of the Environmental Management System and its integration with several tools. The position will follow-up with construction teams, Environmental Managers, and other disciplines to obtain environmental data to feed our main EMS software solution and obtain evidence of completion of pending action items. Part of the time will be dedicated to data entry.
You are someone who:
- Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections.
- Prepare reports summarizing environmental issues and deficiencies and associated corrective and preventative measures
- Maintain records of environmental NCRs, incidents, and discoveries.
- Assist in the development of environmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal environmental regulations.
- Provide training and support to staff on environmental compliance issues.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Conduct site visits and inspections as needed.
- Has experience with similar projects in Ontario
You bring:
- Post-Secondary education in Biological Sciences or Environmental Engineering or Diploma in Environmental Technology.
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in the delivery/management of an environmental compliance program.
- Experience in developing, implementing, monitoring, and tracking environmental practices and performance.
- Working with environmental tracking software (ex. Smartsheet, Enablon, Cority)
- Working knowledge of erosion and sediment control in construction projects
- Knowledge of environmental legislation in Ontario.
- Experience in the construction industry.
