Financial Analyst

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our growing Accounting & Finance Department In this position, you will report to the Director of Finance and play a key role in supporting financial reporting processes and conducting in-depth financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, particularly in month-end close processes, and possess excellent analytical skills. You should be comfortable working independently, while also identifying when to work collaboratively within the team. Your contributions will be impactful in driving continuous process improvements and strengthening internal controls, in addition to enhancing reporting and operational efficiency across the business.
This role is located at our 111 Creditview Road, Vaughan, ON office location. Employees are required to work full-time from the office Monday through Friday.
What You'll Do:
- Complete month-end close responsibilities, including account reconciliations, preparation of working papers, and finalizing financial statements
- Review monthly bookkeeping entries to ensure accuracy and consistency for reporting purposes
- Assist in various financial reporting and analysis tasks, including variance analysis, segmented reporting, and departmental reporting
- Assist with identifying, developing, tracking, and analyzing business key performance indicators (KPI's) to support leadership in making data driven decisions
- Assist in forecasting and budgeting processes and provide regular reporting of budget to actual results
- As required, work cross-functionally to review, document, and enhance financial controls or other internal controls
- Collaborate with other departments to implement or optimize processes, ensuring operational efficiency
- Assist with year-end close activities
- Work on other finance-related duties, tasks and cross-departmental ad hoc projects or strategic initiatives as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years work experience in accounting, financial analysis, reporting and/or financial planning
- Post-secondary education in Finance or Accounting required
- CPA designation (or working towards a professional designation) preferred
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office, with a particular emphasis on Excel including but not limited to pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision
- A working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Experience with NetSuite would be a significant asset
- Experience and/or interest in new technology solutions, including artificial intelligence (AI)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational, planning, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to prioritize and cope with competing and changing objectives
- Integrity and high ethical standards
