Position Summary

As a Health Care Attendant / Personal Support Worker (HCA / PSW), you will provide hands-on, compassionate care to support the physical, emotional, and social needs of our residents. Working as part of a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team, you will assist residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity, independence, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, mobility, feeding, wound care, and other daily living activities
  • Provide cognitive, social, and emotional support to residents and families, including palliative care
  • Deliver compassionate services while respecting confidentiality, privacy, and resident dignity
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with team members and residents' families
  • Respond to resident and family concerns promptly and professionally, in line with company policies
  • Follow departmental and company policies regarding documentation, infection control, fire safety, and workplace safety

Qualifications

  • Valid Health Care Aide (HCA) certificate or Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate, completion of the first year of a recognized nursing program, or equivalent education/experience
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
  • Prior experience in a retirement or long-term care environment preferred
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
