Position Overview
We are seeking a full-time Refrigeration Mechanic with a G1 Gas License. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years' experience installing commercial and industrial HVAC/R systems and be a dependable, motivated professional with strong technical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Install commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems, including rooftop units, chillers, split systems, boilers, radiant heaters, make-up air units, and control systems.
- Interpret and follow mechanical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
- Install refrigerant lines, gas piping, wiring, and associated control components.
- Perform brazing, soldering, and pressure testing in compliance with industry standards.
- Start up and commission systems to ensure safety and performance standards are met.
- Collaborate with electricians, apprentices, and project supervisors for seamless project execution.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized job site.
- Accurately complete all installation and commissioning documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic certification (Ontario).
- G1 Gas Technician License (TSSA). Candidates with G2 licenses progressing toward G1 will also be considered.
- ODP Certification.
- Minimum of five years' hands-on experience in commercial or industrial HVAC/R installations.
- Valid Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Physically capable of demanding tasks and working safely at heights.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to quality work.
- Customer-focused with pride in craftsmanship.
Preferred Assets
- Working at Heights certification and experience operating aerial lifts.
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication or duct installation.
- Knowledge of BAS/DDC systems and HVAC control logic.
- Experience mentoring or supervising apprentices.
