Job Summary

The Daycare Director oversees the daily operations of the non-profit child care centre, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for children aged 0–5 years. The Director provides leadership to staff, supports families, and ensures compliance with Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations and Flight: Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations, staff scheduling, and child enrollment.
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta licensing and health and safety standards.
  • Support educators in planning and delivering play-based, developmentally appropriate programs.
  • Build strong partnerships with families and respond to their needs and concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation required by licensing.
  • Oversee budgeting, fee collection, and funding or grant applications.
  • Promote a positive, team-oriented, and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level 3 Certificate (required).
  • 1–2 years of experience in a licensed child care setting, with some leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Flight: Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework.
  • Current First Aid/CPR and clear Vulnerable Sector Check.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
