What You'll Be Working OnOur internships and co-ops are designed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility, while receiving support from an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor. We'll help you discover your strengths and development areas in a challenging, fun, and supportive work environment.
We are seeking a student to join us for a 4-month co-op position starting in January 2026. This position will be based out of the Mississauga office.
Responsibilities:
- Extract, transform, and load data from diverse data sources for data analysis and reporting used
- Ensure data quality and perform data cleaning as needed
- Experience creating and maintaining reports, and dashboards in Power BI an asset
- Assist in analyzing historical construction data and improving data quality where needed
- Assist in data strategy efforts, including updating data flowcharts
- Support data science efforts by identifying machine learning and Python automation opportunities, sourcing and preparing data, and developing models and workflows for construction activities
- Complete data related courses
- Other duties as assigned by the Project Data Analyst
Who We Need On Our Team
- You are currently enrolled in a post-secondary undergraduate or master's program, in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related discipline such as Information Systems, Engineering, or Data Analytics
- You will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship and possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently
- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships Exemplify the Ideal Team Player – Hungry, Humble, Smart Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
- Residency, or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Bird Construction or one of our wholly owned subsidiaries
