The Opportunity
As a
Virtual Emergency Medicine Physician
, you'll collaborate with on-site clinical teams using advanced technology to assess and treat patients in real time. You will:
- Provide virtual emergency care, receiving/providing handovers from/to other medical teams
- Evaluate, diagnose and treat a range of presentations, ordering tests and reviewing results
- Coordinate with nurses, escalate critical cases, and ensure smooth transitions
- Build relationships with a cross-functional on-site and virtual team committed to patient-first care
- Help bring innovation, safety, and quality to every patient encounter
- Shifts typically fall on Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm PST
What You'll Need
- Current, unrestricted licensure with CPSBC
- CCFP(EM) or FRCPC-EM designation
- At least 1–3 years of clinical experience in emergency medicine
- Passion for equitable, high-quality care and for bringing it virtually to patients in need
- Comfortable using or learning digital platforms and EMRs
- Residing in British Columbia
- Experience working in the digital health sector preferred
