We are expanding our team in Burnaby, BC, and seeking a visionary AI Strategic Planning Manager to drive the company's long-term AI product strategy and ecosystem development. As an AI Strategic Planning Manager, you will blend corporate strategy expertise with deep AI product knowledge to shape the roadmap for our AI initiatives, focusing on early-stage (0-1) development and strategic partnerships. You will play a pivotal role in aligning product innovation with business expansion goals, leading high-level corporate planning, ecosystem collaboration, and global business outreach.
Job Responsibilities
- Define and own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI-driven products, with a focus on 0-1 innovation.
- Conduct market research, competitive benchmarking, and customer insights analysis to inform product decisions.
- Anticipate AI industry trends and identify opportunities for product growth.
- Apply corporate strategy frameworks to guide AI product positioning, business expansion, and long-term growth planning.
- Support the development and execution of the company's overall corporate strategy, ensuring alignment with senior leadership.
- Provide thought leadership by contributing innovative ideas and perspectives on AI product development, ensuring the company stays ahead of the curve.
- Collaborate with engineering, data science, UX/UI, and marketing teams to ensure product success.
- Drive ecosystem-level collaboration by building strategic partnerships with technology providers, research institutes, and enterprise clients.
- Represent the company in external negotiations, industry forums, and international business development activities to expand overseas market presence.
- Develop product requirements, user stories, and use cases.
- Monitor KPIs, analyze performance, and drive feature iterations to optimize user experience.
- Act as an internal subject matter expert on AI trends, tools, and opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; Master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning, or business development, preferably within the technology or AI software industry.
- Track record in 0-1 product development from concept to market.
- Strong knowledge of AI/ML technologies (LLMs, diffusion models, generative AI) combined with the ability to articulate original product insights and strategic viewpoints.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills for engaging technical teams, stakeholders, and partners.
- Demonstrated experience in ecosystem cooperation and cross-border business partnerships; background in international market expansion is highly desirable.
- Fluent in English with outstanding written and verbal communication.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
