About the Role:

We are seeking two (2) Network Services / Operational Technology Project Managers to support the coordination, tracking, and delivery of projects within the 2026 Rural Generation program. This position is based in St. John's, NL, with the possibility of travel to other project locations as required. The role is initially a one-year contract with potential extensions.

The successful candidates will develop and maintain project work plans, scope statements, and schedules; manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects; monitor progress and budgets; and ensure alignment across teams and stakeholders. These positions are ideal for technically minded and detail-oriented professionals with utility project experience, particularly in network services, operational technology, or communications engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete project scope statements and set up project work orders.
  • Develop and execute project work plans, revising as necessary to meet changing requirements.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scopes of work.
  • Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) through active participation in corporate HSE processes.
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets, ensuring compliance and addressing issues proactively.
  • Evaluate, authorize, and communicate project change requests.
  • Establish and manage project risk registers.
  • Ensure work packages are developed and leveraged by the project team.
  • Determine project insurance requirements in consultation with the Risk and Insurance Division.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of site presence during project execution.
  • Manage the commissioning phases of work.
  • Prepare monthly capital and accrual reports.
  • Participate in lessons learned sessions to drive continual improvement.
  • Communicate regularly with Operations/End User Clients.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experienced project manager with utility project experience, particularly in Network Services and/or Operational Technology.
  • Experience working in isolated communities is considered an asset.
  • Communication engineering experience is an asset.
  • Professional Engineer designation preferred; other candidates considered with relevant education and experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Please note that you may be required to work in an industrial environment, requiring hands-on field supervision. This may include working at heights, dirty/dusty and noisy environments, and confined spaces. All personal protective equipment and site-specific training will be provided.
