Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related equipment. The Truck Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all vehicles meet safety and performance standards.

Duties

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and other commercial vehicles.
  • Inspect and service engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, tire rotations, and brake adjustments.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and computerized diagnostic equipment to complete repairs accurately and efficiently.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems as needed.
  • Conduct welding or fabrication work for truck frames, exhaust systems, or structural repairs.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams for troubleshooting.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
  • Provide clear communication to supervisors and drivers regarding repair needs and completed work.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Truck Mechanic or Heavy-Duty Mechanic.
  • Certification or training in heavy vehicle maintenance is an asset.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with air brake systems, diesel engines, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to operate diagnostic software and testing equipment.
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy parts and working in various conditions.
