Job Summary

As Landscaping Estimator you will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and pricing new landscaping projects under the guidance of the Senior Estimator. This position supports the preparation of competitive bids, cost models, and proposal documentation, ensuring that all project pricing is accurate, well-justified, and aligned with company profitability goals. You will collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors to gather data, assess risk, and ensure that every project is competitively positioned for success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and vet new project opportunities from bidding sites and other sources.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and addenda to prepare accurate pricing and material take-offs.
  • Identify and price required materials, labour, and subcontracted work.
  • Model project profitability and identify potential risks or cost drivers.
  • Prepare and file proposals, RFIs, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain organized and traceable records of all pricing assumptions and decisions.
  • Collaborate with in-house teams and suppliers to verify feasibility and pricing accuracy.
  • Support handoff meetings to ensure smooth transition to Project Management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, general contractors, and industry partners.
  • Contribute to meeting company targets at each stage of the sales pipeline.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in estimating, project coordination, or a related field (landscaping or construction preferred).
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of reading plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and estimating tools; Excel or Google Sheets required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong time management and documentation habits.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of landscaping materials, construction techniques, and industry standards is an asset.
