Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Indigenous Apprenticeship Advisor located in West Vancouver, BC. The Indigenous Apprenticeship Advisor will provide guidance and support to Indigenous individuals pursuing apprenticeships, create individualized training and employment plans, and build relationships with training providers, employers, and community organizations. Responsibilities include tracking progress, reporting to stakeholders, and ensuring program delivery meets organizational standards and community needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience in career advising, workforce development, or employment counseling
  • Ability to create training and career development plans and implement employment strategies
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and networking skills
  • Familiarity with the trades, apprenticeships, or related industries
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture, history, and the unique barriers faced by Indigenous job seekers
  • Proficiency in record-keeping, reporting, and program accountability
  • Competence with computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience
  • A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation are considered assets
