Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing safe and reliable transportation, particularly for children. This role requires excellent communication skills, student management, and the ability to engage positively with passengers. A background in commercial driving is essential, and previous school bus driving experience is a plus.

Duties

  • Safely operate a bus to transport passengers to designated locations, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and mechanical integrity.
  • Assist passengers, including children, in boarding and disembarking the bus safely.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor while providing excellent customer service to all passengers.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, and passengers regarding schedules, routes, and any potential delays.
  • Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and passenger counts as required.
  • Provide support in teaching safety protocols to passengers when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with children is highly desirable.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Valid commercial driver's license (Class 2 with air brake endorsement) with a clean driving record is required.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle operation is beneficial for troubleshooting minor issues on the road.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and strong teaching skills when interacting with diverse passenger groups.
