Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Full Stack Engineer located in Vancouver, BC. The engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining both front-end and back-end components of web applications, specifically focusing on applications that interact with and visualize complex data sets.

Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Designing, writing, and optimizing high-performance, scalable code for data-intensive applications.
  • Collaborating closely with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to build user-facing tools and infrastructure components.
  • Implementing modern software development best practices—including robust testing, CI/CD pipelines, and code reviews—to ensure solution quality and stability.
  • Troubleshooting, resolving technical issues, and ensuring seamless data integration across systems.
  • Actively contributing to project scoping and technical architecture discussions.

Qualifications

To be a strong fit for this role, you should possess the following:

Required Technical Skills

  • A minimum of 2 years of professional work experience as a Full Stack Developer, Software Engineer, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in both Back-End Web Development (e.g., Python/Django, , or similar) and Front-End Development (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular).
  • Demonstrated experience with Relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and writing optimized SQL queries.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and how to design and secure them.
  • Expertise in HTML5, JavaScript (ES6+), and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

Important Soft Skills & Experience

  • Comfortable with change and ambiguity: Given the nature of consulting and custom development, you must be a proactive self-starter who can rapidly adapt to new technologies, client requirements, and evolving project scopes.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, especially in environments involving large or complex data flows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical discussions with the team and non-technical explanations for clients.
  • A proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Education & Other Requirements

  • Ability to work on-site in Vancouver, BC.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with data analytics, data visualization libraries, or data automation technologies (e.g., Apache Airflow, dbt, BI tools) is a significant plus.

Pay: $60,927.18-$143,540.44 per year
