The Heavy-Duty Painter is responsible for preparing, priming, and painting trucks, tanks, and large vehicle components to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience working with heavy-duty equipment, strong technical knowledge of paint systems, and a commitment to safety and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming.
  • Mix and apply coatings, paints, and finishes according to specifications in mixing room.
  • Perform color matching and ensure consistent finish quality.
  • Operate paint booths, spray guns, and related equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure adherence to company and customer standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding job status and timelines.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience as an automotive or heavy-duty painter (truck, equipment, or industrial).
  • Strong understanding of paint systems, paint mixing, paint application, coatings, and surface preparation.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical specifications.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Experience operating spray equipment and paint booths.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS and workplace safety procedures.
  • Knowledge in masking and prepping for prime and paint.
