The Role: Settlement Coordinator
Settlement Coordinators are key members of the Kinbrace team. In this role, you'll journey alongside residents as they navigate the refugee claim process: Providing support from initial intakes and needs assessments to community resource orientations, coaching, advocacy, and weekly goal-setting and support all while building a strong sense of community and care.
Responsibilities
- Case Management and Resident Support:
Guide residents through their settlement journey with personalized support and goal-setting. - Core Settlement Services:
Help residents access housing, employment, wellness, and refugee protection resources. - Professional Development and Knowledge Building:
Stay current on immigration systems, services, and community resources. - Administrative Support and Resource Management:
Maintain records, internal resources, and complete necessary administrative tasks. - Collaboration and Community Engagement:
Work with the team, community partner collaborators, and participate in community events.
Skills & Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Social Work or international relations) is an asset.
- Fluency in English and Farsi/Dari (required); additional languages are an asset.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of the refugee claim process in Canada and settlement resources.
- Experience with case management or related program delivery.
- Demonstrated intercultural competencies and sensitivity to diverse communities.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license is considered an asset.

Working Conditions
- Requires travel to various locations in BC's Lower Mainland and occasionally across Canada to attend partnership meetings, deliver/attend workshops, and conferences.
- Shared office space at the Kinbrace office in East Vancouver.
- Your regular working hours will be 9–5 pm with the occasional evenings and weekend community events.
- Active participation in staff meetings and community events.
More Information About the Role:
- 40hrs/week
- $28 per hour
- Hybrid position, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office
- Temporary contract: December 1, 2025 – January 15, 2027 with possibility of extension
