Job Description
Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Azure Data Engineer with strong leadership capabilities to take on a hybrid role that combines hands-on development with technical team leadership. The ideal candidate will design and implement scalable data solutions on Azure, while also guiding and mentoring development teams to ensure best practices and high-quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Development:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines using Azure services.
  • Implement data integration solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other Azure tools.
  • Build and manage data lakes and data warehouses using Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and Synapse Analytics.
  • Ensure data quality through validation, cleansing, and transformation processes.
  • Optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Develop data processing scripts using Python or Scala.
  • Integrate with reporting tools for data visualization and insights.

Technical Leadership

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of Azure-based solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and roadblocks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Understand and potentially work with SAS code for legacy or integrated systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer and Technical Lead with a focus on Azure technologies.
  • Expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and Synapse Analytics.
  • Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
  • Proficiency in Python or Scala for data processing.
  • Hands-on experience with reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Strong understanding of Azure architecture and services.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with SAS or understanding of SAS code is a plus.
  • Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Developer, Azure Architect) are preferred.
