About Us
Muslim Literary Festival is a vibrant community hub for Muslim writers to explore publishing, collaborate, and learn from industry professionals. We're a mission-driven team passionate about connecting Muslim writers with education, opportunities, and resources.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Programming Manager to lead our new coaching platform. In this role, you will design and implement the platform structure that enables Muslim writers to connect with experienced publishing professionals for coaching and mentorship. Coaches will independently facilitate their sessions and set their own terms, while you ensure the platform runs smoothly and serves our community effectively. This is an exciting opportunity to build a program from the ground up and make a lasting impact on the literary community. This is a remote position open to people based in the GTA as well as outside the GTA.

- Design and manage the Coach x Writer program structure (eligibility, session formats, intake processes)
- Recruit, onboard, and support mentors (authors, editors, agents, coaches)
- Coordinate monthly mentor availability and ensure accurate listings on the website
- Oversee mentee intake: review applications, match mentees to mentors, and ensure a fair, transparent process
- Collect and track session feedback, outcomes, and success stories for evaluation and reporting
- Collaborate with Marketing to promote mentorship opportunities and highlight mentors
- Work with Operations to ensure scheduling, payment, and compliance systems run smoothly
- Contribute to developing policies (mentor codes of conduct, confidentiality agreements)
- Support program sustainability by helping define metrics and improvement processes
Requirements
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams (Programming, Marketing, Operations, Finance)
- A passion for mentorship, coaching, and supporting Muslim writers' growth
- Commitment to MLF's mission and values
- Reliable access to internet and ability to work remotely
- Bonus: Experience in mentorship, coaching, publishing, or nonprofit program management
What You'll Gain
- Opportunity to design and launch a new program from the ground up
- Experience in nonprofit program management and development
- Connection with authors, editors, agents, and other publishing professionals
- Leadership experience managing a meaningful initiative
- Opportunity to contribute to meaningful work supporting Muslim writers' professional development
- Flexible remote work arrangement
- Collaborative team environment with cross-functional exposure
