Nucleon Energy Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Process Engineer to join our engineering team in Calgary. The successful candidate will support the design, optimization and operation of energy processes, working closely with senior engineers to ensure safe, efficient and sustainable operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to grow their skills in a fast-paced, innovative environment.Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, analysis, and optimization of process systems for energy production and related operations.
  • Conduct process simulations and prepare technical reports to support project development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Prepare and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications.
  • Contribute to project planning and execution under the guidance of senior engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience (co-op or internship experience is an asset).
  • Familiarity with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, SysCAD) is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of process engineering principles, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
  • Innovative and persistence; motivated to research and develop solutions to meet uncommon processing requirements.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to energy and process engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD or similar tools is a plus.
  • Valid work authorization in Canada.
