At RBC we are searching for a dynamic Senior Program Manager to join our team. You will be at the forefront of regulatory initiatives that will shape Banking's future.

As a representative of the Value Office, you will be a member of the largest Project Management Office in RBC and part of a collaborative team that is a catalyst for delivering transformation initiatives, accelerating value creation, and infusing Agile ways of working that drive continuous improvement. You will work with a diverse set of stakeholders and senior leaders and will be at the forefront of strategy execution with teams that deliver some of RBC's most important strategic initiatives.

As a Senior Program Manager, you will lead RBC's most complex initiatives, ensuring alignment with platform goals and strategic objectives. You will create program roadmaps, coordinate cross-functional teams, and engage stakeholders to define scope, set priorities, and maintain communication. You will implement risk management strategies, foster proactive problem-solving, and promote business agility through continuous improvement practices. Additionally, you will analyze performance metrics and integrate lessons learned to enhance future planning and value delivery.

What will you do?

  • Regulatory Compliance: Manage regulatory and compliance programs, ensuring clear linkage between business vision, regulatory context, and program scope and objectives. Monitor production suites of various regulations and sanctions controls.

  • Leadership: Define team roles and responsibilities, ensuring alignment on goals and expectations. Foster high engagement by enhancing team effectiveness, promoting a safe environment for open dialogue, and recognizing achievements.

  • Change Management: Lead change initiatives with key partners, ensuring robust plans are developed, communicated, and executed effectively.

  • Program Management: Manage all aspects of program lifecycle, including planning, execution, and monitoring. Oversee multiple projects within the program, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivery frameworks.

  • Stakeholder Management: Prioritize stakeholder needs where possible, ensuring effective onboarding and communication of strategic goals. Build trust through transparency, manage conflicts, and maintain strong relationships with RBC partners, including executives.

  • Planning & Scheduling: Develop program structures that balance value with delivery frameworks. Create and adapt plans and roadmaps as priorities shift, guiding the team through ambiguity to focus on high-value work. Communicate schedule status clearly to stakeholders.

  • Risk Management: Proactively assess risks and issues, engaging stakeholders to develop and implement controls and mitigation strategies. Communicate risk and issue status transparently and to senior-level audiences.

  • Continuous Improvement: Promote feedback to simplify processes and drive innovation. Implement frameworks for continuous improvement to optimize team performance.

  • Communication & Facilitation: Deliver clear, tailored communications to stakeholders and team members. Facilitate inclusive and relevant meetings, leveraging tools to enhance engagement and clarity.

  • Delivery Tools & Processes: Guide the team in adopting enterprise tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Planview, Mural) to support delivery. Apply and educate on RBC's project management policies, standards, and frameworks.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 5–7 years of experience as a senior leader managing large-scale, cross-functional program delivery.

  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity while leveraging delivery frameworks for successful outcomes.

  • Expertise in driving organizational change, fostering collaboration, and aligning stakeholders on shared goals.

  • Strong agile delivery experience, including setting up scaled agile squads and establishing effective routines.

  • Skilled in measuring initiative value by defining and monitoring objectives and key results aligned with business goals.

  • Advanced relationship management skills, with experience influencing senior leaders, executives, and vendors.

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with experience tailoring messages and leading discussions for senior audiences.

  • Proficient in planning and maintaining integrated program schedules, roadmaps, and status reports.

  • Experience in financial program management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost-benefit analysis.

  • Advanced knowledge of risk and issue management, including risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and transparent reporting.

Nice to have:

  • PMP/PGMP, CSM/ACSM, SAFE certifications, or a recognized Change Management certification (e.g., CCMP, Prosci).
