*Job Summary:*
The Organizational Development Consultant plays a pivotal role in shaping an exceptional employee experience to support a dynamic and inclusive culture at WSIB. The role leads the design, development and execution of enterprise-wide programs and initiatives, including performance management, competencies and corporate values, talent management and succession planning, that enable employees and leaders to thrive.

By aligning organizational development solutions with WSIB's Corporate Strategy, People Strategy and values, the Consultant creates integrated, innovative and scalable approaches that strengthen the organization's culture and capability.

The Consultant leverages deep expertise in talent and succession planning and performance management, while also bringing exceptional capability in project management, change management and stakeholder engagement to drive the successful delivery of high-impact initiatives.

As a trusted and collaborative advisor, the Consultant provides expert and strategic guidance to the Executive Committee, Senior Management, and HR leaders, delivering compelling insights and presentations to drive understanding, buy-in and adoption of innovative organizational development practices. Through this work, the Consultant helps ensure WSIB remains a forward-looking, agile organization where employees feel valued, supported and empowered to reach their full potential.

*Major Responsibilities:*

  • Lead the research, design, development and implementation of organizational development initiatives and solutions.
  • Proactively assess and diagnose organizational needs relative to the strategic needs of the business. Key initiatives may include leading the following: modernizing performance management through system and process implementations and enhancements; building a more robust talent and succession planning approach including greater oversight and management of our high potential employees; driving greater accountability and traction for development planning; enhancing the WSIB competency framework; learding recognition initiatives such as the WSIB annual awards process, service milestone program, etc
  • Apply a systems thinking approach to problem solving when developing a solution or recommendation. This means being able to make distinctions, organize processes, recognize and build relationships and consider multiple perspectives to provide a thoughtful and well integrated solution.
  • Align organizational development solutions to WSIB's Corporate Strategy, People strategy, organizational values and competencies to ensure the deliverables bring value to the organization now and into the future of the workforce.
  • Use evidence, research of best practice approaches, and analytical insights to forecast trends and provide advice/ recommendations on organizational development programs and solutions.
  • Provide expert advice, consultation and stakeholder engagement to the Executive Committee and other Senior Management (including HR) and other key stakeholders on various organizational development programs and initiatives to achieve business objectives through the following:
  • Design and implementation of programs and solutions that represent best practices in the industry contextualized to fit WSIBs unique needs.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen and significant SME knowledge to link employee experience and culture strategies to business objectives.
  • Act as a SME in providing advice on how to maximize the organizational effectiveness by applying solutions and presenting those solutions to Executives.
  • Facilitate sessions with key stakeholders (e.g. HR Business Partners, working groups) to gather feedback, brainstorm solutions and provide information to educate and support their knowledge of various programs and/or intiatives so that they can effectively support their business areas.
  • Maintain a strong pulse on industry best practices, including thought leadership and research to bring innovative and industry leading ideas and recommendations forward.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and lines of communication with various stakeholders including HR business partners, Communications, Learning teams and the Systems & Analytics team.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to design and implement enterprise wide organizational effectiveness initiatives to enhance the employee experience and organizational culture of the WSIB. Key initiatives may include:
  • Performance Management program (lead regular sessions with working group, change champion network; and HR Business partner team),
  • Implement a high potential program in partnership with the Enterprise Learning Services team, Design and execute workshops with leaders to increase awareness and development of high potential talent.
  • Review of Corporate competency framework to develop more robust guidance to support meaningful development discussions.
  • Project Manage all aspects of the design, development, implementation and measurement of programs and/or solution(s) by using highly collaborative approaches and excellent stakeholder management. This includes a strong partnership with Communications to ensure clear, concise and effective communication tactics across our programs and within the assigned portfolio
  • Implement continuous improvements to enhance the effectiveness of the program(s) and/or solution(s) within the assigned portfolio.
  • Demonstrate strong stakeholder relationships by providing regular updates, seeking feedback on program effectiveness and implementing change management best practices to enhance the effectiveness and impact of the program/solution(s).
  • Consistently develop and maintain effective knowledge management resources so that program knowledge can be easly shared with others.
  • Lead the complete procurement and vendor management process for assigned vendors.
  • Collaborate with external vendors on WSIB projects and programs, where applicable.
  • Own and manage vendor relationships, where applicable, and bridge any gaps between external vendor and internal stakeholders to ensure a positive relationship

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., HR Management, Applied behavioural sciences, industrial organizational psychology) or equivalent combination of education and experienced.
  • CHRL, CHRP or equivalent

*Preferred Level*

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., HR Management, Applied behavioural sciences, industrial organizational psychology) or equivalent combination of education and experienced.
  • Change Management certificate and/or designation
  • Project Management certificate and/or designation
  • An additional level of expertise in another area of Human Resources, Masters Certificate in consulting and/or coaching
  • Experience:

  • 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, ideally in organizational development or talent management roles

  • Potential assessment and high potential programs
  • Succession planning

  • Strong project management, change management, and stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a persuasive and compelling manner both verbally and in writing to all levels of leaders, employees and vendors.
