Job Summary

The Quality Supervisor oversees all quality control functions within Northern Lite Manufacturing. This position is responsible for leading the Quality Control Technicians, managing daily workflow and inspection priorities, and ensuring all Northern Lite fiberglass truck campers meet quality standards and specifications. The Quality Supervisor works closely with the Operations Manager, Production, Supply Chain and Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement, reduce rework, and uphold Northern Lite's commitment to producing industry-leading products.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the Quality Control Technicians, including final inspections, in-process checks, and rework verification.
  • Plan and prioritize QC workload to meet production schedules and delivery timelines.
  • Maintain accountability for overall product quality and ensure compliance with company standards, specifications, and procedures.
  • Review and approve QC inspection reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify recurring quality issues and coordinate root cause analysis and corrective actions with production and engineering.
  • Lead daily quality meetings and communicate quality performance and issues to the Operations Manager.
  • Develop, train, and mentor QC staff to ensure consistent inspection practices and continuous skill development.
  • Assist in revising and improving inspection checklists, work instructions, and quality documentation.
  • Work with Supply Chain team to ensure timely and effective containment and documentation of nonconforming materials and products.
  • Support internal audit activities related to product quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment, preferably in fiberglass, RV, or automotive production.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a small team.
  • Strong understanding of quality control methods, inspection techniques, and defect documentation.
  • Familiarity with fiberglass layup, gel coat application, and finish inspection is an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work orders.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in record keeping, data analysis, and basic computer applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to enforce standards consistently.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and product integrity.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on quality control.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of quality assurance, inspection techniques, and management systems.
  • Familiarity with project management principles as they relate to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration across departments.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards throughout all production stages.
