The Opportunity?
We believe that our success depends upon having the right people in the right jobs with the ability to work well together. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Maintenance Planner. In this role you will proactively plan and schedule maintenance activities to ensure efficient operations, minimize downtime, and improve equipment reliability. In addition, this role will focus on developing strategies for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, while also managing resources, materials, and work orders. This involves creating detailed maintenance schedules and overseeing inventory control.
Duties and Responsibilities?
Key expectations for this role will include:
- Establish, maintain and improve the maintenance planning and scheduling processes to ensure the most effective production and maintenance outcomes
- Develop maintenance schedules, create work orders, and ensure that maintenance activities are well-organized and executed
- Work with maintenance teams, contractors, and other departments to ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently
- Lead initiatives with respect to the improvement of maintenance workflow and participate in initiatives to improve equipment reliability
- Act as a liaison between maintenance and other departments, ensuring clear communication about schedules, resources, and expectations
- Manage maintenance parts and inventory system to ensure appropriate stock levels, allocation of costs, etc.
- Review and update for all maintenance operating procedures, parts lists, and documentation required to conduct relevant PM's for equipment reliability and to maintain OH&S and HACCP compliance.
- Maintain accuracy and up-keep of CMMS system with respect to history, job record, status, etc.
- Analyze equipment performance metrics, maintenance history, and failure trends to identify opportunities for improvements
- Update required KPI's and complete reports as required
- Perform all preparations required to implement work orders
- Understand and communicate the company's asset cost of ownership and provide recommendations based on equipment reliability and cost history
- Assist in the preparation of the capital budget and maintenance operating budget
- Monitor the work performance of maintenance staff and provide support where necessary in the absence of the maintenance supervisor
Is role right for you?
If you are highly motivated and have excellent interpersonal skills this could be a fantastic opportunity for you. This role requires proven leadership and strong problem solving capabilities. You will have completed a post-secondary Engineering/Technology program or a Journeyperson Certification in a relevant field. This will be combined with 3+ years of experience in maintenance planning, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
