Job Skills / Requirements
The Checkpoint Resource Coordinator (CRC) plays a crucial role in our Operations by performing scheduling administration at the Screening Checkpoint. The CRC will be posted at various Screening Checkpoints throughout the airport with access to a workstation. In this position, the CRC will be responsible for reconciling the Time and Attendance System (TAS) with our scheduling software to ensure accurate billing and payroll functions. The CRC will facilitate break-management for Screening Personnel and also support the coordination and scheduling of overtime where required in accordance with the Collective Agreement. Working in close coordination with management, the CRC will also assist with the deploying and redeploying Screening Personnel across other Screening Checkpoints at Kelowna International Airport.
Responsibilities
Administer breaks for Screening Personnel at Screening CheckpointsReconcile shift start and end times in the TAS system with Paladin's scheduling software and investigate discrepancies between the two systems.Communicate break schedules, durations, and release times directly to Screening PersonnelFacilitate backfilling of Screening Personnel during breaksArrange qualified relief personnel for breaks with matching qualificationsUtilize Paladin's software for break management and deploymentMonitor and manage breaks, and investigate incidents of delayed returnsProvide investigative support and documentation for disciplinary interventions, including assisting the Labour Relations Division as requiredEnsure accurate recording of breaks in the Time and Attendance System (TAS)Cross-reference TAS break times with Paladin's software and adjust for payroll and billing accuracyEscalate complaints and non-compliance issues to Operations ManagersGenerate reports for the Operations Management TeamCollaborate with the Scheduling Analyst to refine Break Scheduling Practices based on reporting systemsIdentify and implement improvements, policies, and procedures related to break-reliefClearly communicate rationale behind break management practices to support employee morale and productivityBe accountable for all overtime required to facilitate breaks at the assigned checkpointQualifications
Equivalent work experience is desirable1-2 years experience in an administrative or coordination roleAbility to acquire Transportation Security Clearance (TSC)Related post-secondary education would be considered an assetStrong organizational skillsAbility to analyze and interpret data from reporting systemsExperience in implementing policies and proceduresKnowledge of labour relations and collective agreements is an assetAbility to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy and professionalismStrong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenMust be a current resident of Kelowna or the surrounding areaSalary: $50,000 - $55,000
Work Hours: These are 24/7 positions, so candidates with open availability to work morning, afternoon, and evening shifts are preferred.
This role is fully based at the Kelowna International Airport (YLW).
