About the Opportunity:
We're partnering with a trailblazing biotech harnessing artificial intelligence to transform how medicines are discovered. Their proprietary AI platform fuses machine learning, bioinformatics, and large-scale genomic data to uncover novel drug targets and mechanisms unreachable by traditional methods.
As a
Senior / Staff Machine Learning Scientist
, you'll join an elite research team advancing the frontier of AI in biology. You'll design, train, and scale cutting-edge deep learning models across massive biological datasets—turning complex data into breakthrough insights that power the next generation of genetic medicines.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead research on advanced deep learning architectures and training paradigms (supervised, self-supervised, generative, multi-modal) for large-scale biological and genomic data
- Collaborate with computational biologists and domain experts to design scientifically meaningful machine learning tasks and models
- Implement, train, and optimize high-performance models that generate interpretable insights from complex datasets
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI and identify opportunities to apply cutting-edge ML research to real-world biological problems
- Mentor and guide junior scientists and engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration
- Present findings internally and externally through talks, publications, and cross-functional discussions
Qualifications:
- PhD (or equivalent experience) in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, or a related quantitative discipline
- Deep understanding of modern deep learning methods (e.g., Transformers, state-space models, LLMs) and hands-on experience with frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX
- Proven success developing, training, and deploying ML models on large, complex datasets
- Strong problem-solving ability and a track record of delivering innovative, high-impact research
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams
- (Preferred) 2+ years of postdoctoral or industry experience, with publications in top-tier ML venues (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR) and experience mentoring or leading research projects
