The Clinical Leader works in collaboration with, and in support of the Director and Managers to foster an environment that is consistent with the vision, values, and strategic goals of HHS. The Clinical Leader is responsible for managing the day to day operations including staffing/scheduling/payroll, patient flow, bed management, patient and family concerns. The Clinical Leader assists Manager with\: Budget/Fiscal responsibility- review, monitor and adapt based on monthly budget reports, prepare yearly budget in consultation with Financial Controller. The Clinical Leader is responsible for performance and attendance management, human resources – staff recruitment, rewards and recognition, general communication, complying with collective agreements (OPSEU, CUPE), Project Management- responding to corporate initiatives, unit based quality improvement initiatives, SOR- occurrence and critical incident review, daily interactions with multidisciplinary health care team, daily interactions with patients and families, clinical expertise, experience and academic preparation (credentialing), and supports moving evidence into practice and knowledge translation.

The Department of Diagnostic Services supports a high volume of diverse adult and pediatric patients and families, providing service within Radiology, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Interventional Radiography, PET, and Ultrasound. Most areas within Diagnostic Imaging provide services 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The Department of Diagnostic Services is dedicated to caring for both adults and pediatric patients, providing services across multiple sites.
