As a member of the healthcare team, the Medical Administrative Assistant provides clerical, administrative or business support to patients, families and those providing service and/or care. 

1. Graduate of community college secretarial or office administration program or equivalent or equivalent office experience 
2. Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 or equivalent,  which may be subject to testing 
3. 1 year recent experience in general or medical office administration  
4. Keyboarding 60 wpm 
5. Knowledge and skill in using computer required (expert skill in EPIC) 
6. Strong administrative and organizational background with an ability to prioritize, multi-task, schedule, and carry out tasks with strong attention to detail
7. Effective and creative problem-solving abilities. 
8. Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, public relations and problem-solving skills 
9. Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly 
10. Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively 
11. Ability to appreciate the confidential nature of the position 
12. Ability to sit for long periods, repetitive reaching, repetitive bending
