Corteva Agriscience Canada Company is seeking a Labeling Specialist to support our Regulatory Department based in Calgary, Alberta.  The primary purpose of this position is to work across the Canada Regulatory department and with the Commercial, R&D and Supply Chain functions to ensure that business needs and federal regulatory requirements of Corteva end-use and technical products are met

As the Labeling Specialist, you will support a team of Regulatory Managers and work collaboratively with the Regulatory Administrative Team. This work will require knowledge of company, business / functional practices, policies, programs, and / or product lines.  We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills and can work both independently and as part of a team.

What You'll Do:

  • Coordination of label development with input from label stakeholders such as product technology specialists and marketing specialists.
  • Responsible for ensuring that submitted regulatory label text is compliant with federal regulations.
  • Develop and / or maintain product labels and accompanying documentation for artwork commercialization process and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Partnering with Corteva Supply Chain on final label content and release into production.
  • Preparing and submitting revised labels to regulatory authorities. Ensure label format follows Corteva standards.
  • Leading and/or contributing to departmental work process improvement projects.
  • Use excellent communication skills to represent the company to internal stakeholders in a professional manner.
  • Respond to rapidly changing priorities according to business needs.
  • Point of contact with government label reviewers to address concerns, resolve issues with submissions and supporting documentation relating to labels.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks such as filing regulatory documentation as required.
  • Assemble and submit e-indexes through PMRA's e-PRS system
  • Assist with the maintenance and annual updating of Department plans and process documents.
  • Support the development, release and maintenance of product SDS's as required.
  • Responsible for providing the Corteva website administrator with new or updated labels and SDS's.
  • Accountable for meeting deadlines given by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Bilingual, English and French preferred.

The Labeling Specialist plays a critical role in obtaining and maintaining the right to sell of Corteva products in Canada. The accountability centers on ensuring compliance for Canada label text with federal regulatory requirements. Success in this role will require developing positive working relationships with regulatory officials and maintaining current knowledge of regulations and policy. In addition, applicants should be able to manage a high volume of work under time sensitive deadlines, be comfortable shifting priorities, and have an excellent attention to detail.

What Skills You Need:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED; Post-secondary Diploma or B.Sc. preferred.
  • Studies in business or office administration would be an asset.
  • Direct labeling experience is not required but knowledge and proficiency in MS Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is necessary.
  • Strong organizational and general administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset.
  • An agricultural or pharmaceutical technical background will be particularly helpful in this position.
  • Key skills to be successful in this role include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, exceptional attention to detail, ability to work both as an individual and with teams, decision making, initiative and personal leadership.
