Cycles for Business allows businesses to manage their treasury, issue invoices, and pay bills, while maximizing savings and yield. Cycles optimizes payment and credit flows and resolves gridlock, reducing working capital costs, late payments, and cash flow stress for businesses everywhere.
Cycles is an independent venture backed startup being incubated by Informal Systems. Cycles is backed by CMCC Global, Maven11, Compound VC, Primitive Ventures, Nascent and Cygni and is currently preparing for Series A. This role presents a rare opportunity to join a high-growth startup and be a part of the founding team led by Ethan Buchman, co-founder of Cosmos.
About the Role
We are looking for a Product Design Lead to shape the product and UX, to deliver the most delightful payments, invoicing, and treasury management experience for businesses. We aim to revolutionize how businesses interact with money, clearing, and payments.
The ideal candidates will have a passion for building engaging, delightful, user-centric web and mobile-based applications, with strong experience in FinTech, digital banking, accounting, or crypto. As a Product Design Lead, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to create intuitive and scalable designs, taking direct responsibility for the success of the product and the experience of our customers.
What your primary responsibilities will be:
- Lead product design across mobile and web, from discovery and user research through production-ready interfaces.
- Define and own the product's design language, UX patterns, and interaction principles to create delightful and trustworthy payment experiences.
- Translate complex invoicing, treasury, and payment workflows into simple flows that engage and delight the user.
- Partner closely with engineering and product teams to prototype, test, and ship new features quickly while maintaining high UX quality.
- Run user research, usability testing, and feedback loops to deeply understand customer needs and inform product decisions.
- Contribute to product strategy and roadmap by identifying key opportunities to improve user experience and drive adoption.
- Build and maintain a scalable design system that ensures visual consistency and speed across products.
What we look for in a successful Product Design Lead:
- Obsession with UX and interfaces that delight, and a passion for making sophisticated financial technology feel simple, safe, and powerful for users
- 5+ years of experience designing mobile and web applications end-to-end, ideally in fintech, payments, and/or crypto, with a focus on businesses (SMEs)
- Demonstrated ability to ship products from 0→1 and evolve them based on user feedback.
- Deep expertise in UX design, interaction design, and information architecture for complex financial or transactional products.
- Expert proficiency with Figma and other modern design tools, plus a strong understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards for both mobile and web
- Experience collaborating tightly with engineers and product managers in fast-moving remote environments.
- A portfolio showing thoughtful design systems, elegant interfaces, and clear UX reasoning.
