We are looking for an experienced truck driver to provide service to Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be assisting to serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Transport bins to customer locations and transport loads from customers to assigned landfill
  • Complete pre-trip inspection on vehicles for mechanical/safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
  • Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel receipts
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions
  • Report defects, accidents or violations

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a truck driver
  • Ability to drive continually during a working day and travel locally
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience and valid DZ driving license
  • High level of accountability and time management
  • Willingness to get in and roll up your sleeves to do whatever it takes to get the tasks done safely and effectively
  • Clean driving abstract/CVOR
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and dispatch
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
