Flat Roofer – Torch-On Application

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Flat Roofer experienced in torch-on membrane roofing systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining flat and low-slope roofs using torch-applied membranes and related materials. Safety, precision, and attention to detail are essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain flat and low-slope roofing systems using torch-on (modified bitumen) materials.
• Prepare roof surfaces by removing old roofing, cleaning substrates, and applying primers as required.
• Measure and cut roofing materials to fit around projections and roof edges.
• Operate propane torches safely to apply bitumen layers and ensure proper adhesion and waterproofing.
• Inspect roofs for damage and leaks, and complete necessary repairs.
• Apply protective coatings and sealants as needed.
• Follow all workplace safety protocols, including fall protection and fire prevention procedures.
• Collaborate with crew members to ensure timely and high-quality project completion.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in flat roofing, specifically torch-on membrane systems.
• Knowledge of roofing materials, tools, and equipment.
• Strong understanding of roof waterproofing and insulation practices.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Commitment to workplace safety and following company safety procedures.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Roofing certification or trade qualification (an asset but not required).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, bend, kneel, and climb ladders.
• Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods.
• Ability to handle propane torches and hot materials safely.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.65-$30.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
