Job description:

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, smoothies and specialty drinks
  • Prepare/ prep food items such as wraps, salads, toasts, etc.
  • Take customer orders and accurately input them into the point-of-sale (POS) system
  • Operate espresso machines and other coffee-making equipment
  • Ensure that all beverages are made to the customer's specifications and meet quality standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including restocking supplies as needed
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving any issues or complaints in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate cash drawer balances
  • Follow all health and safety regulations when handling food and beverages

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role is preferred but not required
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure orders are prepared in a timely manner
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers
  • Proficient in cash handling procedures and basic math skills for accurate cash transactions
  • Knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques to ensure food safety standards are met
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Familiarity with POS systems for order processing and cash handling
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with coworkers
  • Fluent in English and French
